Community Work
I am heavily involved in communities that advocate for the inclusion of marginalized groups, such as "Diversity in Engineering", which advocates for the rentention and inclusion of marginalized groups in engineering, and "Tigers Skate Club", a group that empowers women and gender minorities in skateboarding. I hope to continue working with groups like these so that individuals can find communities where they belong.
Livestreaming Tutorials
In 2021, I worked at the Elko Engineering Garage, a makerspace at the University of Alberta. In this role, I led introductory training for power tools, 3D printers, and woodworking/metalworking equipment. I also directed video and livestream projects to provide online machine orientation and software tutorials to participants. Furthermore, I developed and taught a videography and live streaming course to help staff transition from in-person programming to a hybrid delivery model. The following two videos are livestreams of me teaching participants the basics of Fusion 360, a 3D modelling software that is commonly used for 3D printing.
